Compensation Analyst

San Jose, California | Contract

Wollborg Michelson Recruiting is currently conducting a search for a contract Compensation Analyst for one of our clients a large healthcare provider in San Jose, CA. The Compensation Analyst provides analytical support and helps in the implementation, communication and administration of compensation programs.

Essential Functions:
  • Analyze and interpret compensation data to identify trends and make recommendations
  • Assist in the development of communication to convey plans and policies to a diverse audience to include employees and management
  • Assist in the development of programs to educate managers on Compensation and Benefits programs
  • Provide guidance to managers in developing job descriptions including FLSA classification, manage job codes within HRIS system
  • Assist with the implementation of the Compensation Module in the HRIS system (Ultimate), including testing
  • Assist in the merit cycle processes
  • Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication
  • Takes initiative and action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner

Minimum Education & Experience:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying
  • High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’ s degree preferred
  • Five (5) years compensation experience; at least one (1) year to include experience in plan communication development
  • CCP/GRP/CBP/CEBS preferred
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment performing multiple tasks/projects
  • Experience with HRIS systems preferred

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong analytic skills, communication skills (written and verbal) and problem-solving skills
  • Strong vendor relations skills
  • Ability to interact and consult with management
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of FLSA, DOL and other regulatory and compliance requirements related to benefits and compensation
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Able to read, write, speak, understand and satisfactorily communicate with others in English in person, over the phone and via email

Skills:
  • Compensation experience
  • 5 Years’ Experience in plan communication development
  • 1 Years CCP/GRP/CBP/CEBS Experience in a fast-paced environment performing multiple tasks/projects
  • Experience with HRIS systems Knowledge of FLSA, DOL and other regulatory and compliance requirements related to benefits and compensation
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
