Head of Finance & Business Operations

Our client in downtown San Francisco is looking for leader manage the full scope of business operations responsibilities including financial planning, accounting, payroll, office facilities, and implementing new systems/processes.


Financial Planning:
  • Partner with Management team to identify and evaluate opportunities for growth, including affordability, profitability, and feasibility. and Lead the forecasting, budgeting, and monitoring of business matters across the team. Put in place key metrics and financial milestones to show how the organization is tracking against its strategic goals.
  • Support management team with monthly, quarterly and annual management of client retainers. Partner with account staff to proactively monitor and manage client budgets.


  • Oversee the billing process to ensure client invoices are generated in a complete, accurate, and timely manner in coordination with the team leaders
  • Analyzing and entering corporate credit card transactions
  • Payroll, AR/AP, tax compliance and audits
  • Oversee, review and approve employee expense reimbursements


Vendor management:
  • Manage vendor relationships required for business operations and delivery of client services including but not limited to; payroll and accounting systems, facilities, banking, insurance and IT services.
  • For HR related and smaller ticket items, partner with HR lead and Office Manager to review and approve individual vendors. Ensure all agreements protect the firm and meet compliance guidelines.
  • Oversee contract review and negotiations


Facilities & IT:
  • Ensure IT systems are secure and implement relationships with external contractors/vendors to maintain a secure and stable IT environment


  • 7-10 plus years of finance and operations experience with 3 plus years at a professional services firm
  • BA or BS
  • An established record of creating value through the implementation of operational improvements.
  • Positive and proactive attitude
  • Adaptable to new processes and support systems created and modified as by the company needs
  • Ability to interact at every level of an organization
  • Ability to establish priorities, manage work independently and meet deadlines
