Job Description

Hybrid Accountant III Opening in Arizona!

(Contract-to-Hire)

Must have:

  • 4-year college degree in accounting
  • 3 or more years in accounting experience in a larger organization
  • Experience in creating standard and adhoc reports
  • Knowledge in Oracle, OTBI, MS Access, Smart View, and Excel knowledge
  • Developed SQL queries
  • Working hours are M-F 8-5pm. Every four weeks, during accounting closure, you will be on-site for two days. (Wednesday and Thursday during the closure period, you will work 1-2 hours past five)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accountable for maintaining departmental applications and system functionalities requiring a high level of decision making and technical abilities
  • Work in cooperation with Division Finance, Financial Planning, and other departments to maintain the organizational structure within accounting systems
  • Maintain the company's chart of accounts and reporting hierarchies
  • Develop and maintain Oracle’s allocation processes
  • Coordinate with Division Finance and Real Estate on new and closed site activities, including store maintenance for timing in conjunction with the accounting close and publishing financial reports
  • Support team members and other departments in resolving issues, creating accounting process efficiencies, and engaging in activities that contribute to meeting accounting close deadlines
  • Conduct special studies and develop or recommend accounting methods and procedures
  • Analyze business processes to determine areas for improvement
  • Create standard and adhoc reports utilizing various applications: Oracle, OTBI, MS Access, Smart View, and Excel
  • Develop SQL queries to help end-users obtain financial information
  • Take the lead on projects requiring research, analysis, organization, communication and problem resolution
  • Responsible for providing guidance to internal/external customers
  • Train and assist Associates and Clerks in specific accounting tasks and in the use of systems
  • Be a mentor; lead by example * Provide positive reinforcement/constructive feedback
  • Handle conflict and issues while maintaining the self-esteem of others
  • Participate and support all team activities while contributing to motivate others
  • Champion inclusion to encourage best possible outcomes
  • Any and all job duties assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three or more years accounting experience in a larger organizationOracle and mainframe-based accounting systems experience a plus
  • Advanced level PC skills in Microsoft Access and Excel
  • Ability to develop advanced queries (SQL) and processes in a relational database (DB2)
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Superior customer service attitude and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High degree of accuracy, initiative, and resourcefulness
  • Detail oriented with solid analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated and ability to complete tasks with a minimum of supervision
  • Independent decision making
  • Honest and trustworthy, exhibiting sound business ethics

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Four-year college degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Computer Science
