Job Description:
The Clinic Scheduler is responsible for performing a variety of clerical duties and front office operations to support patient care activities. This includes ensuring smooth patient flow, maintaining communication with referring physician offices and organization staff. The Clinic Scheduler interacts with patients, their family members, and the public in a courteous manner, adhering to established standards. Key responsibilities include greeting visitors, answering telephones, collecting copays, closing the cash drawer, and preparing month-end deposits. Additionally, the Clinic Scheduler collects initial demographic and clinical patient information, accurately enters it into the medical record, compiles and prepares charts, and assists with patient scheduling, including confirmations, cancellations, and rescheduling. Prompt communication of schedule changes to all appropriate parties is essential. The Clinic Scheduler also maintains accurate information using various software, schedules appointments, enters charges, finds and scans documents, and ensures all required paperwork is complete prior to the patient's procedure. As directed by medical staff, the Clinic Scheduler may order patient tests during their stay. This position may work in various departments as needed and provide assistance to clinical staff when required. Confidentiality and participation in the continuous quality improvement process are expected. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Education:
- High School Graduate or equivalent education and experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
