Contracting Support Specialist
Job Summary
This role supports the Network Contracting department by performing administrative and coordination tasks that ensure contract requests, documentation, and related processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable standards and policies.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, review, and coordinate documents and information for contracting requests, projects, contract management, and related activities.
- Obtain and verify required documentation from existing and potential providers for contracts and credentialing.
- Manage departmental email inboxes used by internal and external customers for request submissions and status updates.
- Manage incoming fax requests from provider offices.
- Apply understanding of terminology, processes, and policies related to Medicaid and Medicare contracting requirements.
- Draft letters and documents related to the preparation of contract documents.
- Track all incoming and updated information related to contract requests or data updates, including assigning items to the appropriate contract specialist or network operations representative.
- Develop and maintain accurate records for contracting activities.
- Resolve problems and make decisions in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain databases;collect, track, prepare, compile, and distribute statistical data as required.
- Provide statistical reports and maintain records of requests for qualifying healthcare professionals for all product services in the Medicaid segment.
- Support contract specialists to ensure successful completion of the contracting process, including loading and system verification.
- Identify gaps and risks in the contracting process through network analysis and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure timely and accurate completion in line with standards and guidelines.
- Navigate effectively through systems of record to verify that all information within documents is accurate and up to date.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience in administrative support, contracting, provider relations, or a similar business operations role.
- Familiarity with Medicaid and Medicare business requirements and terminology.
- Ability to manage multiple requests and projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in handling email and fax communications in a high-volume environment.
- Ability to interpret and apply departmental policies and procedures in daily work.
- Competence in working with databases and generating basic statistical reports.
- Willingness to work a full-time schedule and additional hours as needed to meet business requirements.

- Background in healthcare administration, contracting, or related business operations.
- Knowledge of provider contracting processes, particularly for Medicaid and Medicare.
- Demonstrated experience managing documentation, records, and data tracking.
- Proven ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks in a structured, deadline-driven environment.
- Capability to support end-to-end contracting workflows and resolve routine issues independently.
