Job Description
Food Product Evaluator II
Job Summary: Provides technical support for food product development activities with a strong focus on documentation, record keeping, reporting, sample storage, and demonstration preparation. This role enables the team to concentrate on broader strategic work.
Responsibilities:
- Assist managers by handling documentation and coordinating new product demonstrations across various categories;receive, log, label, and store food product samples while maintaining inventory systems.
- Plan setup and cleanup for product evaluations and cuttings;participate in sensory assessments and distribute demonstration reports to cross-functional teams.
- Execute product sample testing (e.G., pH, viscosity, texture analysis) and perform additional duties as assigned.
- Create, update, review, and manage files for finished product specifications including NLEA and ingredient statements in collaboration with supervisors, suppliers, and team members, and route specifications for approval.
Requirements:
- Degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or a similar discipline preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or production environment.
- Thorough knowledge of food manufacturing equipment, food preparation, ingredient functionality, product formulations, and sensory evaluation procedures.
- Understanding of food safety, microbiology, and packaging technology.
- Ability to operate basic chemical and analytical tools as well as laboratory equipment such as refractometers, pH meters, and titration devices.
- Excellent time management skills with a strong sense of urgency to complete assignments.
Skill:
- Technical support in food product development
- Expertise in documentation and inventory management
- Proficiency in product testing and sensory evaluation
- Competency in operating laboratory equipment
Summary Qualification:
- Degree in a relevant field such as Food Science or Chemical Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a lab or production setting
- Comprehensive understanding of food manufacturing processes and safety standards
- Strong technical support and product evaluation skills
