We're seeing a Human Resources Generalist for our Portland, Oregon location.
Details:
- Pay: $35-$41 hourly
- Fully Onsite in Portland, OR
- Contract with possibility of hire
- 5-9 years experience required
- BA degree required to be considered
Job Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist will provide comprehensive HR support to assigned Business Units. This includes fostering business partnerships, managing employee relations, overseeing recruitment and retention efforts, conducting training, facilitating organizational development, and administering compensation and benefits. The HR Generalist will also offer guidance and information to clients to align corporate strategy with business needs, while ensuring a positive work environment and minimizing legal risk.
Responsibilities:
Employee Relations:
- Resolve performance issues for staff up to manager level, including separations.
- Act as a counselor to both management and team members, addressing any concerns or conflicts.
FMLA Administration:
- Administer and advise client groups on leave administration, including federal and state leave of absence programs.
Payroll:
- Possess knowledge of Oregon Labor Laws to effectively manage payroll processes.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Build strong business partnerships with Hiring Managers, developing effective recruiting strategies.
- Manage applicants through the entire recruitment process, from application to onboarding.
- Source and screen resumes, and conduct interviews for all levels, including management roles.
- Provide support and consultation on benefit-related questions and issues, particularly during employee leaves.
- Ensure consistency and fairness in policy and procedure, adhering to federal and state law requirements.
- Investigate employment, grievance, EEO, and ADA-related issues, reporting findings and taking appropriate action.
- Collaborate with the training department to support training and development initiatives for assigned client groups.
- Facilitate various training sessions, covering topics such as management development, diversity, harassment, new hire orientations, and performance management.
- Consult with clients on organizational changes, participating in reorganizations to optimize resource utilization and minimize risk.
- Process and manage all organizational changes and movement through the Human Resources Information Systems, conducting data audits for accuracy.
- Communicate and ensure compliance with compensation, benefits, and leave policies and programs.
- Manage the salary review process for designated business groups, administer performance evaluations, and conduct pyramid reviews.
Education Level:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience. PHR in Human Resources is a plus.
- 5-9 years of experience as an HR Generalist, with expertise in behavioral interviewing, employment, training, employee relations, compensation, diversity, FMLA, payroll, management/organizational development, risk management, and loss control.
- Warehouse/Distribution Center experience is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and online recruiting software. Experience with Oracle is strongly preferred.
- HR recruiting experience, including management-level positions.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Sound judgment in decision-making and problem-solving.
- Strong conflict management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with associates and management at all levels.Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and influence others.
- High degree of initiative, proven team player, and excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
