Job Summary

This role applies clinical drug knowledge to conduct utilization reviews, ensuring regulatory compliance and quality service for members and providers. The pharmacist supports internal teams by providing pharmaceutical expertise, clear communication, and mentorship while upholding organizational policies and standards.

Responsibilities
  • Apply clinical knowledge of drugs to utilization reviews.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely in all interactions.
  • Understand and support drug formulary management to promote cost savings.
  • Provide quality service to members and providers.
  • Offer pharmaceutical expertise across internal departments as needed.
  • Meet departmental goals for quantity and quality reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations in utilization management.
  • Exemplify professional conduct and uphold brand reputation.
  • Support and mentor less experienced team members.
  • Resolve complex issues and problems as they arise.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and applicable laws.

Requirements
  • PharmD degree is required.
  • Current and unrestricted Pharmacist license is mandatory.
  • 2-4 years of experience in prior authorization review.

Skill
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with claims processing vendors or prior authorization interfaces.

Summary Qualification
  • PharmD degree with a valid, current Pharmacist license.
  • Prior authorization review experience of 2-4 years.
  • Ability to deliver quality service and clear communications.
  • Proven capability to mentor team members and resolve complex issues.
