Technical Writer Servicing Operations
Job Summary
Responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining procedural documents for the Servicing Operations organization. Responds to phone calls, emails, and in person requests for procedural and operational support. Ensures procedures comply with industry standards and regulations, and identifies, researches, tracks, monitors, and resolves operational and technical changes related to operational procedures.
Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and update clear, concise, and accurate procedures as assigned by management.
- Conduct research and interviews with process owners and subject matter experts to obtain necessary background and development information.
- Submit written work for review and editing, incorporating feedback as needed.
- Work closely with subject matter experts and business partners to gather information and ensure content accuracy.
- Translate complex technical information and processes into easily understandable text for various audiences.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, products, services, systems, and software.
- Maintain a strong understanding of applicable state and federal laws and regulations, including bank secrecy and anti money laundering requirements.
- Update procedures to reflect process and system changes and validate detailed system updates as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field.
- Two or more years of experience writing procedures.
- Two or more years of experience in retail financial services or equivalent banking experience.
- Effective business oral and written communication skills.
- Strong procedural writing skills supported by hands on experience managing customer accounts.
- Ability to operate a computer terminal and standard office equipment with sufficient manual dexterity.
Summary Qualification
- Bachelor s degree in a related field and at least two years of procedural writing experience.
- Prior experience in banking or financial services operations.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex processes into clear, user friendly documentation.
- Strong communication, organization, and time management abilities.
- Proficiency with standard office and documentation tools.
Skill
- Advanced technical and procedural writing skills.
- Strong oral and written communication capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with subject matter experts and business partners.
- Knowledge of financial products, services, and operational procedures.
- Proficiency with data processing, operating, and training systems and software such as SharePoint and knowledge base tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and software efficiently.
